Website for Connect Tomodachi
The Connect Tomodachi Project, developed in the leadup to The Tokyo 2020 Olympics was a collaboration between the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Olympic Committee. The project connected students and teachers from Japan and Australia around culture, sports, language and culture; many relationships developed.
The delay of the 2020 Olympic Games due to the COVID-19 Pandemic caused this community to flourish and was an incredible format to connect countries that were no longer open for travel.
In the wake of the Olympic Games held in 2021, I created an online environment to continue this community as DFAT and AOC closed down their official Olympic cancels.
Supported by Australia-Japan Foundation (FFAT) and Gullivers Sports Travel, it was built in 3 Months and reconnected 2,500 people in the first thre3 weeks.
